Kalon Event and Food Design
Through the wonderful connection I made through Auburn, I was able to live out my dream of working and living in the big city, while also completing my internship.
I met Chef Tyler Lyne when he was the chef in residence at The Horst Schultz School of Hospitality Management teaching restaurant, 1856. He was rarely ever there, seeing as he had his own restaurants to run, but when he was there I was able to establish a connection with him that in turn became a wonderful opportunity.
He offered me an internship position with his company in New York and I excitedly accepted. I spent 2 months working with the catering and events team attending events, communicating with clients before, during and after the events, and did a lot of internal work for the company.
I gained knowledge and experience, and a work family I would be proud to go back to any time.
Kalon was named in the top 10 list of best caterers in New York City.
