My Education
I am lucky to be a graduate from Auburn University, with a degree in Hospitality Management and a minor in Business Administration.
I always get asked why I went to Auburn, and my honest answer is that it just felt like home. No one in my family had ever gone here, or even remotely close to it for that matter, but I had a close family friend who was a big fan. When I toured, I felt uncomfortable at first because I'm such a homebody that I was still on edge about even going to college. However, once it came time to apply, and I looked back on all the schools I had been to, I knew my top choice was Auburn. Luckily I got in, and 3 years later, I'm still so happy with my decision.
When I first got to Auburn, I was a pre-business major. I was so unsure of what my path was going to be and I soon realized that even though I needed business, a business major was not the path I needed to take. After a lot of thought and talks with advisors and my parents, I made the decision to switch to interior design. It proved not to be my path either. When I looked into the hospitality program as my next option, a lot of my stress faded away. With a built in business minor and a lot of creativity, it had everything I needed and more. I knew that major was where I should have been all along.
Flash forward to graduating, and it was the best decision I could have made for myself. The Hospitality program has expanded so much and the school is thriving. You can read more about it under the “Curriculum” drop down.
